Virtual Rainforest @ MoMA online
This project was part virtual preservation of the objects and the installation of David Tudor’s Rainforest V (variation 1) as it was installed in MoMA’s Kravis Studio. Each object along with the whole exhibition space was 3D scanned using photogrammetry. Each object was then processed at a high resolution detail for 3d form and texture. Along with the 3d scanning Professor Seth Cluett took ambisonic recordings of the installation and space to accurately represent the audio. Once the whole installation was scanned the assets where then converted down to a format that would be best used and viewed on mobile devices. The final virtual reality installation is available on the MoMA’s website as both a record of the exhibition and a way for others who couldn’t physically be at the museum to have access to the work.
